Ningthembam clinch Brajkishore Kang title

MNC (A) Ningthembam defeated LEC (A) Babupara by 14-11 in tie break to win the title of the 2nd E.Brajakishore Memorial Mixed Kang Tournament, 2014 organised by All Jiribam Sport Association (AJSA), Jiribam at Kalimai Mandhob today.
In the final match today, MNC (A) Ningthembam won the toss and decided to initiate the match while LEC (A) Babupara selected the side of their choice.
Both the teams were in 11-11 draw during the allotted time.
Then the game was decided by the tie break of seven Lamtha and seven Chekphei.
In the tie break round, MNC (A) Ningthembam scored 14 while LEC (A) Babupara could secure 11 to retain as runners up of the tournament.
.MBina Devi, Pradhan Hilgahat GP; M.Brajakanta Singh, President All Jiribam Sport Association (AJSA), Jiribam and E.Damayanti Devi, Doner, Kalinagar graced the final match as Chief Guest, President and Guest of Honour respectively.
Pradhan of Hilghat M Bina Devi presented winner trophy with a cash prize of Rs 3000 to MNC (A) Ningthembam and M.Brajakanta Singh, President All Jiribam Sport Association (AJSA), Jiribam handed over runners up trophy with a cash prize of Rs 2000 to LEC (A) Babupara.
Three players of LEC (A) Babupara N Kunjamohan, K Birakumar and S Manibala bagged the Best Chekphei prize while Best Lamtha award went to K Mohen of MNC (A) Ningthembam.
Altogether 12 teams namely, SAYC (A) Sorok Atingbi, SAYC (B) Sorok Atingbi, LEC(A) Babupara, LEC(B) Babupara, MNC (A) Ningthembam, MNC (B) Ningthembam, KYC Kalinagar, YLC Dibong Khunou, MITLE Jiribam, Echel Club Dibong, IMA Kangkhut and Tolenkhun Kangkhut, Cachar participated in the tournament.
E Damayanti Devi of Kalinagar donates the tournament in the name of his husband.
