Birendra Memorial Super Division CHIKL edge past YDO, MPSC-BMSC match drawn

CHIKL edged past YDO by a margin of 3�2 while the match between MPSC and BMSC ended in a 1�1 draw in the 18th S Birendra Singh Memorial Football League at Awang Sekmai .
In the first match of the day, CHIKL put up a good fight, coming behind from 1�2 to win the match.
They did start on a positive note with Sh Netrajit scoring a beauty in the 8th minute of the game .
However, YDO’s strikers were on a roll as the match progressed.
Their counterattack kept the CHIKL defence on their toes and on more than a couple of occasions it was too much for the latter’s defenders .
In a gap of seven minutes they scored twice with N Olen and N Chinglensana playing at their striking best.
The duo netted two goals at 28th and 35th minute of the game respectively .
By half time, YDO was leading comfortably by 2�1, yet they failed to grasp the CHIKL’s change of game plan in the second half.
When it was 20 minutes into the match after the break, Sh Netrajit struck again to score a wonderful equaliser.
Nine minutes later, L Premjit netted the winning goal while both the strikers and defence of YDO remained clueless.
When the whistle blew, it was 3 for CHIKL, 2 for YDO .
The second match of the day was a well-fought game between MPSC and BMSC .
When the former was good in defence, the latter was better in attacks.
When the former scored in the first half, the latter netted an equaliser in the second.
By regulation time, the scoreline read 1�1 .
