TRAU FC failed to live upto its billing as some tactical changes in the line up were made and Chhinga Veng FC dominated the earlier proceedings taking advantage of the defence line which looked a bit unorganised.
TRAU FC were lucky to have survive the earlier pressure from Chhinga Veng FC but had to pay the price of its poor defence set up in the 33rd minute when Malsawmzuala MC beat past custodian Mithun Samonto before Lalliangsanga doubled the lead in the 40th minute.
With TRAU FC unable to give a befitting reply, the first half ended 2-0 in favour of the visitors.
The home team however upped their ante with a serious approach after the break and their effort gave them a reason to celebrate when Ngangbam Naocha found the net in the 66th minute.
The match then started to see some intense moments as the home team tried hard to draw level and the Mizoram side searched for more goals.
The game took an ugly turn in the 73rd minute as serious foul surfaced and two players involved, TRAU's defender Shahabaaz and Chhinga Veng FC's striker Malsawmzuala (double caution), were sent off simultaneously by the referee.
TRAU FC almost had the equaliser in the 77th minute but Princewill Emeka who was missing his strike partner Joseph Mayowa failed to make his effort count eventually allowing Chhinga Veng FC which were beaten 3-1 at their home ground, seal the game 2-1 .
The result however had no effect on TRAU's position in the tally as they team earlier amassed 15 points from 3 away and 2 home matches to claim the league title and a promotion to next edition's I Ieague.
Chhinga Veng FC, Mizoram on the other hand finished second with 13 points from 4 wins and 1 draw.
