CYCLONE, RCA complete trebles in U-16 Boys Cricket

CYCLONE, Thangmeiband and RCA, Lilong were able to earn their third wins on the trot in their Group B campaigns today at the 2nd MNCA U-16 Boys Naorem Rajningthou Memorial Trophy 2020.At Luwangpokpa Cricket ground, RCA's Imran shone with both ball and bat to earn his team a huge 9 wicket victory against CRAU, Khamnam Bazar.
CRAU won the toss and elected to bat first but their innings slump to a paltry 79 runs in 24.1 overs as Pravesh and Imran produced disciplined bowling performances for RCA before easing to the target in 11.1 overs with 9 wickets left to spare.
Prakash with 13 runs (not out) was the highest scorer for CRAU in the first innings after Joyhenba went off with 9 runs in 20 balls in his name.
Others simply went off with single digit scores or on duck as RCA's Pravesh was on a mission to scalp four wickets including a hattrick and Imran added teeth to the attack by maintaining a fine economy and scalping two wickets.
Iliyas and Zahid also managed a wicket each in this innings.
RCA's innings saw Irfan get out early for 2 ball duck on Joyhenba's bowling but the chase was quick and easy as Zamir and Imran gave a fine unbeaten second wicket stand to add 15 and 41 runs respectively and steer their team to a huge 9 wicket win.
Pravesh of RCA was eventually named man of the match.
Elsewhere at Model Hr Secondary School and Oriental College ground, CYCLONE defended a 169 runs total against OSCAR to come out victorious by 17 runs.
CYCLONE after winning the toss and choosing to bat first posted 169 runs losing four wickets in their quota of 30 overs.
Md Ali Karim hit an unbeaten 54 off 80 balls in this innings after Manglemba scoring a scintillating half century with 72 runs off 72 deliveries in this innings to lead CYCLONE to a comfortable position.
In OSCAR's bowling, Kaushal managed the highest two wickets for 25 runs in 6 overs while Santosh claimed a single for 39 runs in 6 overs.
OSCAR had a scrappy start to their chase but were on track for a while as Reichen and Rajkumar stood well to keep the scoreboard ticking before they went out adding 37 and 25 runs respectively.
Their departure however proved to be a turning point as CYCLONE's bowlers kept things clean and bowled them out for 152 runs in 22.2 overs.
CYCLONE's Manglemba, Bikash, Donny and Ali Karim finished with two wicket each in this innings while Robinson dismissed a single to give their team to complete three of three win..
Manglemba who claimed the last wicket and topscored for CYCLONE was latter adjudged man of the match.
