3rd MCA W Prahlada and W Premananda Elite Tournament CYCLONE down YWC to set up final date with REY

Riding on fine bowling spells from Jempu and Homendro, CYCLONE (Thangmeiband) downed YWC (Langthabal) by 7 wickets to set up a final date with REY (Nagamapal) in the 3rd MCA W Prahlada and W Ramananda Elite Tournament, organised by Manipur Cricket Associaiton at Luwangpokpa cricket stadium, Luwang-shangbam today.
On winning the toss, YWC opted to bat first and riding on a fine batting display from Kishan who managed to make a ball a run score to total 26, managed to put up 75 all out in 26 overs.
Notably Kishan carried his bat through the innings.
However wickets kept falling at regular interval on the other side, thanks to some incisive bowling from Jempu and Homendro who were ably assisted by Akshay-kumar and Rommel.
With the other batsmen failing to deliver, with only Anand who scored 10 off 14 balls putting up some semblance of a fight, YWC managed to put up a total of 75 in 26 overs.
For CYCLONE, Jempu led the way in the bowling department scalping four wickets.
He was ably assisted by Homendro who picked up three wickets and Akshay-kumar who took two wickets.
Rommel also chipped in with the ball with one wicket.
Set a target of 76 to win , CYCLONE started off on the right note with the batsmen not really opening up but picking the loose ball and sending it crashing to the boundary.
Viteshwor led the way compiling a patient 25 runs off 39 balls.
The run rate was not fast but the batsmen of CYCLONE kept rotating the strike and managed to steal the quick ones and twos to slowly inch their way towards the target.
The top scorer of CYCLONE, Viteshwor, was ably assisted by Akshay-kumar who chipped in a useful 18 runs off 38 balls and managed to take the score to 77 runs in 18.5 overs.
For his fine bowling spell of four wickets, Jempu bagged the man of the match award CYCLONE will meet REY (Nagamapal) in the final on January 30 .
