Imphal, September 22:
Manipur registered its second consecutive win in the 30th Sub Junior National Football Championship for Mir Iqbal Hussain Trophy with a solitary goal victory over Jharkhand at Halwani (Uttaranchal) today but exited from the competition as the opening match loss to Maharashtra proved costly.
The all important goal in the Cluster VI encounter came in the ninth minute through Johnson Aimol.
Having lost to Maharashtra 2-1 in the campaign opener Manipur bounced back with a 9-1 thrashing of Haryana but ultimately found itself three points inferior to Maharashtra's tally whose unblemished record paved the way to advance further in the competition.
