Manipur Hockey lose 2-3 against Gangpur Odisha in final

The 6th Hockey India Sub-Junior Men's National Championship (A-Division), organised by Hockey Manipur under the aegis of Hockey India concluded today with Manipur Hockey (MAN) losing 2-3 against Hockey Gangpur Odisha (GAN) in the final match at Hockey Ground, Khuman Lampak.
The closing ceremony of the tournament was graced by Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh and Works Minister Ksh Biren Singh as chief guest and president respectively.
Chairman Hill Areas Committee Dr Chaltonlien Amo, MLA Kh Devendro, Chief Secretary Manipur O Nabakishore Singh, JNIMS Director Dr L Deben Singh, Hockey India Sr Vice President Mariamma Kutty, Hockey India Secretary General Md Mustaque Ahmed and Dr Th Dhabali Singh also attended the function as guests of honour.

In today's final match, Hockey Gangpur Odisha (GAN) edged out Manipur Hockey (MAN) by a margin of 3 goals to 2 .
Goals from Amandeep Lakpra, Sudeep Chirmako and Manip Kerketta in the 15th, 47th and 68th minute guided GAN to victory.
For Manipur Hockey, both the goals were scored by Dipu Laishram in the 18th and 21st minute.
Earlier, in the third place match, Hockey Chandigarh (CHD) handed a crushing 6-2 defeat to Hockey Jharkhand (THA).
The winning goals of CHD were scored by Sanjay (20th, 29th), Sahibjeet Singh (37th, 40th), Rahul (61st) and Maninder Singh (69th) .
