Imphal, January 22 2014 :
The Under 14 State Girls' team lifted the 59th National School Games championship title downing West Bengal via the tie breaker after both teams were locked 1-1 in regulation time.
The tournament was held at Kolkata and was staged under the National School Games Federation.
The two teams matched each other in every department of the game and honours were shared equally during regulation time with one goal apiece.
Anita of Manipur scored the lone goal for the State team during regulation time, while the West Bengal team also managed to pump in one goal.
Extra time too did not produce any results with both teams keeping their defence line tight.
Tie breaker had to be ultimately taken after the extra time failed to yield a single goal from either side to decide the match.
In the end, it was the cool temperament of the State girls, who scored three goals in the penalty shoot out, while the WB team could not score a single goal to keep the scoreline at 4-1 .
