24th Winners' Cup: KIYC post 3-0 away win as MPSC hold AMOFA

KIYC, Imphal East earned a huge 3-0 away win against KPFC, Bishnupur district at Mini Stadium Bishnupur while MPSC fought from behind to salvage a 1-1 draw with AMOFA at MPTC ground, Pangei in today's matches of the Thangjam Birachandra-Maipakpi Memorial 24th Winners' Cup 2019 .
At Mini Stadium, Bishnupur, KPFC had to face huge pressure from the Imphal East side right from the beginning but the latter team which had most of the possession were unable to make the headway for a major portion of game until Somishon capitalise on a chance to make it 1-0 at the stroke of the half time.
It was a similar affair for the two sides in the second half as KIYC looked to extend the lead while KPFC were forced to concentrate mostly in their halves before witnessing a major breakdown in the last few minutes.
Alexandre who was denied on a couple of occasion made a fine move into KPFC's box and banged in a fine shot to double the advantage before Jenish connected to the team's third one minute away from time.
Chingkheinganba of KPFC was yellow carded in the 71st minute of the match and the team's manager had to see the same during the stoppage time.
Kh Chingkhei of KIYC was also shown yellow card early in the opening minute of the match.
KIYC will host KPFC on November 22 at 1.30 at ABA ground, Kshetrigao.
Meanwhile at MPSC's home ground, visiting AMOFA enjoyed early possession and its player, H Samson was able to break the deadlock in the 21st minute of the match but MPSC rallied back and sealed the equaliser in the 40th minute of the match with the help of Ngamkhohen.
The game grew tense in the midway of the second half however it was brought to order by the referee.
AMOFA's manager was cautioned with yellow card in the 75th minute of the match besides two players each side getting the same.
Ngamkhohen of MPSC who save a point for the team was named man of the match.
MPSC will visit AMOFA next on November 22 at 1.30 at Moirang Multipurpose Higher Secondary Ground, Moirang.
