Major Bob Khathing's anniversary: UUFC drub Yarkhok by a margin of 4-2

The 41 Assam Rifles under the aegis of 10 sector AR, Ukhrul today commemorated the 102th birth anniversary of Major Bob Khathing, "the legend of the North East region" .
The second edition of Maj Bob Khathing's football tournament was today kicked off at Somsai garrison.
The Addl DIG 10 sector Ravi Rao lighted the ceremonial lamp at the 41 Assam Rifle ground.
He along with Comdt 41 AR, Gaurav Bose; TNL president Artax A' Shimray and TSL president Ringluiwon released doves in a symbolic gesture to spread the message of peace.
Ex- servicemen, prominent social leaders and heads of schools also attended the 102th birth anniversary celebration of Late Major Bob Khathing.
Major Rahul of 41 AR highlighted the services rendered and achievements accomplished by the late Maj Bob to the nation and to his people.
In all, eight local football clubs participated in football tournament and 5 clubs in women volleyball tournament.
The football tournament kicked off with UUFC (United Ukhrul Football club) drubbing Yarkhok with 4-2 margin.
Speaking at the occasion, social activist, Aso Shimray expressed serious concern over the absence of standard football ground and other infrastructure in the district.
Bob Khathing families and relatives also attended the occasion.
