11th Manipur State League NISA, FC Zalen share spoils

NISA, Thangmeiband played out a highly-entertaining 2-2 draw against FC Zalen, Sadar Hills today in the ongoing 11th Manipur State League at Mapal Kangjeibung.
The game got off to a pacey start with both sides trying to assert their dominance over the other.
NISA missed one penalty though in the first half.
After a barren first half, both sides pressed for goals with open and attacking game and four goals were scored in the second session.

NISA came close to drawing the first blood in the 4th minute when penalty was awarded against FC Zalen as their custodian Hmangte Damkhupreng committed a foul inside the box bringing down Y Ibomcha.
NISA captain S Jameson stepped up to take the penalty kick.
However, FC Zalen's custodian Damkhupreng made a brilliant save.
In a fast-paced match, Thangtinlen Haokip of FC Zalen made a superb attempt in the first half stoppage time.
But luck was not on his side as he missed the scoring chance.
L Milan of NISA broke the deadlock in the 75th minute as he slammed home the opener through a deflection from FC Zalen custodian off a long-range shot from Ng Prem.
NISA netted their second in a space of three minutes as David KC Ngaihte found FC Zalen's net through a pass from Jameson.
The Sadar Hills side did not lose heart even after conceding two goals in quick succession and they pushed forward in search of the equalisers.
Thangtinlen Haokip opened the scoring for FC Zalen in the 81st minute as he lost no time in slotting home a goal through a pass from Seikhohao Tuboi, thus saving some blushes.
FC Zalen found the leveller in the second half stoppage time as William Pauliankhup was bang on target when he made a quick attempt to a ball that ricocheted from the right goal post off a last ditch attempt from Thangtinlen Haokip.
