Meiraba, Manjit-Dingku pair reach final at All India Junior Ranking Badminton Tourney

Imphal, August 17 2019:
Maisnam Meiraba Luwang and the pair of Khwairakpam Manjit Singh and Konthoujam Dingku have sealed their places in the singles and doubles finals at the Yonex Sunrise Krishna Khaitan All India Junior Ranking Badminton Tournament-2019 being underway at Panchkula, Haryana under the aegis of Badminton Association of India.
Meiraba reached the boys U-19 singles final today with a straight set win against Rohan Gurbani in the semi-final.

Meiraba did face little opposition in the opening set but underlined his dominance to see off Rohan 21-17, 21-11 later on.
Meiraba was able to seal his place in the semi-final berth after a hard fought 22-20, 16-21, 21-15 win against Sarath D in the quarter final.
Meiraba will lock horns with Sathish Kumar who outlasted Sankar Muthuswamy 17-21, 21-15, 21-17 in another semi-final match, in the summit clash tomorrow.
Earlier Meiraba defeated Arjun Rehani (21-8, 21-11), Rohan Thool (21-7, 21-17) and Ravi (21-14, 21-11) in the first, second and third round matches.
Meanwhile in the U-19 boy's doubles semi-final, Kh Manjit and K Dingku paired up well to overwhelm Navaneeeth Bokka and Qadeer Moinuddin Mohammed 21-13, 21-16 to cruise into the final.
Earlier in the tournament, Manjit and Dingku pair defeated Nitin Kumar and Harsh Rana 21-14, 21-11 to set up the second round clash against Suraj Goala and Bakeshwari Yadav where they earned a 22-20, 21-18 and a quarter final berth.
In the quarter final, the state lads had a 21-13, 17-21, 21-13 win against Kush Chugh and Nithin HV and sealed the last four round berth.
K Dingku who also competed in the U-19 mixed doubles competition with Drithi Yathi ended their journey in the quarter final as the pair went down 23-21, 21-13 today to the Sathish Kumar K and Ramya CV combination.
