12th Manipur State League DM Rao blank YPHU, NACO, TRAU split points

DM Rao, Sekmai today earned another full points beating YPHU, Lalambung 2-0 while NACO, Nambul Mapal and TRAU, Kwakeithel shared one apiece in the ongoing 12th Manipur State league matches at Artificial Turf, Khuman Lampak .
With the win today, DM Rao were perched on the 6th place with six points in four matches while YPHU were placed 10th with 2 points in four matches at the 12-team league table .
It was Y Sushilkumar who starred for DM Rao in their 2-0 win over YPHU as he fetched the two goals .
The first encounter today between DM Rao and YPHU lacked lustre and the first half ended in a drab goalless draw .
The second half saw the weakening of YPHU defence line and the Sekmai outfits breached it twice.
Y Sushilkumar of DM Rao added life to the game as he struck the opener in the 66th minute.
Mayosing Khongreiwo lashed a delightful ball across the face of goal where Y Sushilkumar made no mistake to put the ball into the net with ease .
Kh Krishnanda set up Sushilkumar to score his second in the 79th minute from the right flank .

Even as YPHU forwards made relentless efforts to equalise the score, they were denied by their rivals defenders to change the script .
On the other hand, NACO, Nambul Mapan and TRAU, Kwakeithel played out an exciting 2-2 draw amidst heavy rain.
TRAU rescued a point late after Wungramchan PS struck a goal in the additional time .
It was W Tomba Singh who drew first blood as he banged in the opener for NACO in the 11th minute off a free kick near TRAU’s box area .
However, the celebration was short-lived as TRAU levelled the score in the 12th minute through Kelvin Alcec Legbelle .
The match became full of life as the two sides upped their antes to alter the scoreline in the rain-soaked pitch.
The downpour however did not deter both sides from launching constant attacks .
NACO took the lead again in the 30th minute when Ng Rahul added another goal in their account.
The two sides went to the break with the NACO’s 2-1 lead intact .
TRAU bounced back with more vigour in the second half and sent more men up front to find the leveller.
However, NACO defenders refused to give any leeway to their rivals forwards allowing very little room for TRAU to have a clear look at the goal .
TRAU were unable to breach their rivals’ defence at the end of the normal regulation time.
Undaunted and desperate to find the equaliser, TRAU intensified their attacks and finally their unrelenting efforts paid dividends as Wungramchan PS was bang on target in the first minute of the additional time to salvage full points .
The draw left NACO at the bottom of the 12-team league table with just one points from their first four matches while TRAU moved to the fifth spot with seven points .
In the league matches yesterday, NISA, Thangmeiband and FC Zalen played out a goalless draw while AIM, Khabam and NEROCA FC, Sangakpham were tied 2-2 .
