66th State Open Badminton Championships : H Malemnganba wins U-19 boys and men's singles titles, Ksh Maheshwari clinches women's singles titles

Imphal, August 14 2022:
Hemam Malemnganba of Bishnupur claimed the men's singles and boys U-19 titles as Kshetrimayum Maheshwari of Imphal East emerged men's and women's singles winners at the 66th State Open Badminton Championships organised by Manipur Badminton Association.
Malemnganba won the game without breaking any sweat as his Imphal West's rival Bidyasagar Salam had to pull out due to injury.
In the women's singles final Maheshwari thumped Vilinda Huidrom of Imphal West 21-14 21-14 to claim the top honour.
In the U-19 boys singles final, Malemnganba got the better of Sirzeet Moirangthem 21-16 21-19 to claim his second title.
Leonie Tayenjam of Imphal West was able to clinch the U-15 girls title as she beat Konsam Gunjan 24-22 21-19 in the final.
In the men's doubles final, Bishnupur's pair of Khwairakpam Manjit and Konthoujam Dingku of Bishnupur eased to a 21-8, 21-15 win over another Bishnupur pair - Haobijam Rohenkumar and RK Alen Singh.
U-19 boys doubles title in the meantime went to Bishnupur pair of Haobijam Rohenkumar and RK Alen as they seal a 20-22 21-16 21-16 comeback win over Imphal West's pair of Borish Salam and Kasprov Ahanthem in the final.
The day also saw Imphal West's Borish Salam enjoying two titles, one each in the U-17 mixed doubles and boys doubles competitions.
Boris claimed his first title with compatriot Khangembam Senlina beating another Imphal West pair of Kelvin Pheiroijam and Sananu Maisnam 21-14 21-14.Borish then paired up with Bishnupur's Brikson Longjam to win the U-17 boys doubles title with a 24-22 21-19 win over Bishnupur pair of Maibram Bhairav and Maibram Brajamani in the final today.
The U-15 boys doubles title went to Bishnupur duo of Khwairakpam Amarjit and Rishav Ngangom as they won 21-16 21-13 over Senapati's L Kalo Truman and Vemai Kyoveio in the final today.
The U-15 mixed doubles title in the meantime was claimed by the Imphal East pair of Thokchom Hursh and Konsam Gunjan who overcame the Imphal West pair of Neelachal Pheiroijam and Khangembam Senlina 21-18 21-8 .
Rishav Ngangom, Chanulembi Sapam claim U-13 boys and girls singles titles.
Yesterday, Rishav Ngangom of Bishnupur won the boys U-13 boys singles title beating his compatriot Martin Ingudam 17-2121-17 21-17 in the final as Chanulembi Sapam beat Jianna Lairenlakpam 21-12 16-21 21-18 in an all Imphal West final.
Kimkim Khongsai of Kangpokpi in the meantime won the U-11 girls title after beating Linthoi Huirem of Bishnupur 21-6 21-11 in the final.
In the U-13 boys doubles final, Martin Ingudam and Rishav Ngangom of Bishnupur beat Imphal West duo of Laishram Nongdamba and Lourembam Boynao 21-11 21-9 to seal the title as Jianna Lairenlakpam and Thangjam Roslinda won the U-13 girls doubles crown beating IW-Kpi duo of Chanulembi Sapam and Kimkim Khongsai 21-17 12-21 21-11 in the title clash.
