Imphal, September 10 2016:
Two teams desperate to win ended up splitting points as Southern Sporting Union (SSU), Singjamei were held to a 1-1 draw by KLASA, Keinou today in the ongoing 11th Manipur State League at Mapal Kangjeibung.
Both SSU and KLASA, who each suffered disappointing defeat earlier, got off the ground cautiously.
Even as both teams found several chances each, none could easily succeed in striking their target.
It was Lalminthang Touthang of KLASA who broke the deadlock in 32nd minute when he beat their opponents' custodian through an assist from team captain Nabachandra.

After conceding a goal, SSU players scurried to find the equaliser.
They eventually got rewarded when Md Sahidur Rehman's header off a long throw-in from Raju found the target in the 37th minute.
The first half ended in a 1-1 draw.
After the break, both teams upped pressure against each other seeking some cracks in the defence line.
However, both teams failed to find any breakthrough.
The dying minutes also witnessed unruly scenes created by players from both sides beyond the control of the referees.
TRUGPU take on TRAU tomorrow at 2 pm.
