1st Manipur Open Chess Tournament concludes Apollosana emerges champion

Imphal, August 10 2015:
The 1st Manipur Chess Tournament 2015, organised by the Manipur Chess Association (MCA) concluded today with RK Apollosana emerging the champion of the tournament which was held at Dharmalaya Social Welfare Centre Community Hall, Nahabam, Imphal.
The closing ceremony of the tournament was graced by Sr Advocate and MCA legal advisor Khaidem Mani Singh, AMWJU president Shamjai Wangkhemcha and CCNT president Laimayum Imo Sharma as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
Champion RK Apollosana was awarded a cash prize of Rs 50,000 along with a certificate.

Yambem Dhanabir Singh, Kh Sanjoy Singh, Sougaijam Bikramjit Singh and Sapokpam Premjit respectively bagged the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th place.
They were awarded a cash prize of Rs 40,000, Rs 30,000, Rs 20,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively along with a certificate each.
Naorem Cha Yohenba and GA Arosmit Charma clinched the the first and second best boy's titles respectively.
They received a cash prize of Rs 5000 and Rs 3000 respectively along with a certificate each.
The first and second best girl's titles went to Yumkhaibam Yaisana Devi and Nungsithoi Ngairangbam.
They were awarded a cash prize of Rs 5000 and Rs 3000 respectively along with a certificate each.
Pukhrambam Rajendra claimed the best veteran title and he was awarded a cash prize of Rs 5000 along with a certificate.
The best hill district's title went to VL Ngamtangin of Ukhrul and he was awarded a cash prize of Rs 5000 .
Apart from all the individual prizes, a cash prize of Rs 1000 and a certificate were awarded to all the participants from the hill district of Manipur.
VS Mayo, RS Ningtarso, M Rengam and Thorsingam represented Ukhrul while Alana, Boben and Pauzalung represented Chandel district in the championship.
