60th CC Meet TRAU, NISA advance to next round

TRAU, Kwakeithel and NISA, Thangmeiband eased to the next round of the ongoing 60th Sir Churachand Singh KCSI, CBE Memorial football tournament 2016 organised by AMFA at Mapal Kangjeibung today after beating their respective opponents.
In the first encounter of the day, TRAU, Kwakeithel thrashed YPO, Sora 4-1.TRAU were in control of the match right from the first whistle.
The Kwakeithel team took an early lead as Nigerian striker Amos Nathaniel Adisa latched on a pass from Sh Meiraba in the 11th minute.

Sh Meiraba extended the lead of TRAU as he ensured a fine finishing to a pass from Th Shanker in the 39th minute.
The two teams went to the break with TRAU's 2-0 lead intact.
YPO players bounced back with renewed vigour and made frenetic efforts to find the equalisers in the second half.
However, their efforts failed to yield result as TRAU defenders stood firm to thwart any danger posed by YPO strikers.
TRAU added two more goals to their account in the second half through N Sushil and Th Shanker in the 74th and 97th minute respectively.
YPO, who fought undaunted even after conceding four goals to their rival, made attempts to make their way.
They however managed to pull just one back through Nasir Hussain in the third minute of the second half injury time.
In the second match, HISU, Thoubal lost to NISA, Thangmeiband 4-0 .
Kh Naoton handed NISA an early lead as he found the net of their opponents in the 13th minute.
In a span of seven minutes from the first goal, NISA doubled their lead through Th Thangamba.
Kh Naoton was at it again as he easily converted a penalty kick in the 82nd minute to make it 3-0 .
The penalty was awarded against HISU as their defender brought down in the box.
Later, David KC Ngaihte took charge to score another goal for NISA in the 84th minute to complete the rout.
