Manipur retained the men's team title of the Senior National Sepaktakraw Championship defeating Andhra Pradesh in straight regu in the final of the 19th edition played at Khuman Lampak Indoor Stadium today.
The hosts won the first regu at 21-12, 21-13 before shutting out the opponents 21-10, 21-10 in the second regu.
The women's team had clinched the championship title yesterday defeating Nagaland by 2-0 regu.
In the men's regu event competition that began today, Manipur won all its three group A matches and will take on Group D runners-up Nagaland in the quarters finals.
The other last eight clashes will be between Andhra pradesh and Assam as Mizoram face Uttar Pradesh with Delhi to test Maharashtra.
On the otherhand, State eves cruised into the semifinals in the regu competition having scripted comfortable victories in Group A matches today and will play against Nagaland tomorrow.
The other semi final will be between Assam and Orissa.
