7th State Jr Hockey Championship : SYUC women notch up 9-0 win against BH, KHSC men's extend winning run

SYUC, Uchekon trounced Bishnupur Hockey (BH) by 9-0 goals as Sh Tanu and Th Anamika shone with 4 goals each in the women's match of the ongoing 7th State Junior Men and Women Hockey Championship organised by Manipur Hockey at Hockey Stadium Khuman Lampak while KHSC men's team which earned an easy 13-0 win against HWC, Langthabal extended their winning run in Pool A with a 15-3 triumph against YCCIC, Kontha Ahallup.
MEIRAA also defeated YCCIC by 2-1 goals in men's Pool A league match that was incomplete yesterday.
In the women's match, SYUC's Sh Tanu opened up the scoring early in the 2nd minute and her team mate H Silky doubled the advantage in the 13th minute of the match to make it 2-0 in the first quarter.
Sh Tanu then went on to score three more goals in the 19th, 31st and 52nd minutes while Th Anamika too proved a troublemaker for BH as she chipped in four goals in the latter part (46', 49', 50',55') including a goal off a penalty corner to complete the 9-0 rout.
Meanwhile in the Pool A league match, I Rohit top scored with 4 goals (18', 38', 50') in his name while M Norika hit thrice (20', 29', 36') to help KHSC seal the huge 15-3 win against the Kontha Ahallup side.
N Herojit (1'), P Jackson (7', 17'), L Sushilkumar (33'), L Harish (42'), N Amarjit (43') and Ksh Borish (57') also scored for the winning side while K Rahul (23'), M Kennedy (32') and L Leishemba (44') scored for YCCIC.
The men's Pool B league, BH fought back from two goals down in the first quarter to settle the game in a 3-3 draw with SYUC.
S Borish (4'), Sh Amujao (12') and L Dipu (51') found the target for SYUC while Th Bikramjit converted a penalty corner in the 27th minute, O Shyam found the net off a penalty stroke in the 49th minute and N Rohit made a fine effort in the 59th minute to make it 3-3 at the end.
