National Level North East Games concludes Manipur bag 42 gold, 25 silver, 16 bronze, emerge overall champions

Manipur won 83 medals including 42 gold, 25 silver and 6 bronze medals to emerge overall team champions in the National Level North East Games, organised by Department of Youth Affairs and Sports.
Mizoram stood at second place with 17 gold, 18 silver and 12 bronze medals while Tripura secured the second runners up title with 9 gold, 1 silver and 23 bronze medals.
The closing ceremony was graced by Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh, PHED Labour and Employment Minister I Hemochandra Singh, Hills Area Committee Chairman Dr Chaltonlien Amo and Consultant to Government of Manipur Dr RK Nimai Singh (IAS Retd) as presidium members.
On the final day, State eves clinched the football and table tennis titles.

Weightlifting : Champak Dutta (Assam), Prow Jhapi (Nagaland) and Lalross Mawii (Mizoram) won first, second and third placed titles respectively in the men's 94+ kg event.
In the women's +69 kg group, Y Omika Devi of Manipur clinched the first position while Lalchan Dami (Mizoram) and Christina Teyang (Arunachal) secured the second and third placed titles respectively.
Table Tennis : Mizoram clinched the men's table tennis title while the runners up title went to Manipur.
The third and fourth placed titles went to Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim respectively.
In the women's group, Manipur emerged champions while Mizoram, Sikkim and Meghalaya respectively bagged second, third and fourth placed titles.
Football : In the men's football final today, Nagaland clinched a thrilling 6-5 victory against Mizoram via penalty.
Both the teams were locked 1-1 in normal time.
The match began with Mizoram taking an early lead after Rochhenpijia found the net in the 18th minute.
However, a late strike from Nagaland's Kivi levelled the scoreline 1-1 at the end of normal time.
In the penalty shootout, Sanyem, Lima, Davekho, Kivi and Imlongchaba found their targets for Nagaland.
On the other side, Mizoram witnessed four goals through Lalhlimpuia, Rochhingpuia, Vanlalthanga and Lalchhanhiima.
For the third place match, Manipur clinched a narrow 1-0 win against Tripura.
In the women's football final match, Manipur outclassed Nagaland by a margin of 5 goals to nil.
The winning goals of Manipur were scored by Ng Bala (15th), N Mandakini (17th, 37th), S Pramodini (30th) and O Roshani (69th).Meanwhile, Meghalaya beat Tripura by a lone goal in the third placed title match.
Manipur emerged overall team champions in boxing (men and women), judo (men and women), weightlifting (men and women).
Manipur also clinched titles in badminton (men), table tennis (men and women), football (women) and hockey (men and women) .
