MCA T20 Luwangpokpa Trophy THAU thrash UCC, TCMDC down PSC

THAU, Thangmeiband downed UCC, Uripok by 8 wickets while TCMDC, Thongju got the better of PSC, Khuyathong by 4 wickets in the ongoing MCA T20 Luwangpokpa Trophy at Luwangpokpa cricket stadium, Luwangshangbam.
In the first match between UCC and THAU, UCC won the toss and opted to bat first and this proved to be somewhat of a God send to the bowlers of THAU who took full advantage of the pitch and managed to extract swing and bounce.
Keeping the batsmen down with some incisive bowling, the bowlers of THAU continued to pick up wickets at regular interval and did not allow the batsmen of UCC to open up and go after their bowling.
Satish of UCC top scored for the team with 30 runs off 29 balls followed by Durgesh with 16 runs off 12 balls.
The bowlers of THAU did the star turn for their team with some accurate bowling and Pritam led the way in grabbing three wickets.
He was ably assisted by Sinet, Kabir and Chittaranjan who all took two wickets each.
Sunil chipped in with one wicket.
The innings of UCC folded up at 77 runs all out in 19.1 overs.
Faced with the task of overhauling 77 runs, THAU went about it clinically with some disciplined batting.
Sunil did well to keep his cool and pick the loose balls to compile 46 runs off only 32 balls while Amarjit made 12 runs off 15 balls.
The bowlers of UCC were unimpressive with only Satish and Nishikanta among the wickets with one wicket each.
THAU scored 80 runs for the loss of two wickets and won the match by 8 wickets.
For making 46 runs off only 32 balls Sunil of THAU bagged the man of the match award.
In the second match of the day, TCMDC, Thongju brushed aside the challenge of PSC, Khuyathong by 4 wickets to win the match.
On winning the toss, PSC opted to bat first but the bowlers of TCMDC lived up to the challenge and managed to grab quick wickets to bundle out PSC for 71 runs for the loss of 10 wickets in 20 overs.
Suraj Kharibam of TCMDC led the way in grabbing three wickets while Sanaton followed suit with three wickets.
For PSC, Bungoraj scored 19 runs off 21 balls, followed by Joy Singh with 17 runs off 27 balls and Vicky 12 runs off 22 balls.
In reply, TCMDC made 72 runs for the loss of 6 wickets with Ghanashyam leading the way with 19 runs off 22 balls, Anand with 14 runs off 19 balls and Bijesh 10 runs off 11 balls.
For PSC, Ozzy took two wickets, Kala two and Prasanta two.
Sanaton of TCMDC bagged the man of the match award for his three wickets haul.
