1st MNCA Super Plate Tournament : Ng Bikramjit ton guides YWC to seventh win on trot

YWC, Langthabal grabbed their 7th win on the trot to finish on top of 1st MNCA Super Plate Tournament Group A by thrashing PCC, Mayai Koibi by 72 runs today at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium.
Having secured wins in 6 of 6 previous matches, red hot YWC maintained their winning streak riding on an unbeaten century from Ngangbam Bikramjit Singh and a half century knock from Seram Robinson to post 209 for 4 in 40 overs before reducing PCC to 137 all out in 39 overs.
Even as Jiko Sorokhaibam succumbed to Thokchom Anand cheaply in the fourth over making it 11/1 for YWC, Seram Robinson clobbered 1 fours and 2 sixes before he departed on 50 after taking YWC to 108.Ngangbam Bikramjit and Ngangbam Bishwash then kept the scoreboard ticking with the latter playing second fiddle.
With the departure of Bishwash on 28 to L Dipu Singh, YWC were 174 for 3 but Bikramjit held on to hit 7 fours and 2 sixes on the way to his 108-ball 100 to take the tally to 209 with Ngangbam Maheshkumar (8 not out).
Thokchom Anand returned with the best bowling figures of 2/43 in this innings before their chase collapsed at 137 .
Bobby Meitei (34) and Longjam Gibson (31) were the only significant batters PCC had today as Ngangbam Bishwash swept the top and middle order to finish with best bowling figures of 4/29 in his spell of 8 overs.
Maibam Subash and Laishram Dinachandra too added teeth to the bowling attack picking up two wickets each.
Ngangbam Bikramjit who scored an unbeaten century was adjudged man of the match.
Elsewhere at Langthabal Public Ground, PTCC-Patsoi notched up their fourth win in the penultimate match by carving out a 18 run victory over Muvanlai Athletic Foundation (MAF), New Lambulane.
PTCC, after electing to bat first, were all out for just 136 runs within 25.5 overs as medium pace trio of MAF, Khaikhotinlal Haokip, Gouminlun Kipgen and Sanjay Kaphle wreaked havoc.
They however did not lose heart and bowled MAF out for 118 runs courtesy Deepak's five-for to seal the narrow win.
Dominic Moiranthem with an unbeaten 46 runs emerged top scorer for the Patsoi team followed by Paonam Champion (26) and Sadananda Okrarn (20) .
MAF made a good start in the chase with Nandakumar (35) making most of the run but he ran out of partners and fell to just 118 runs despite Gouminlun Kipgen (26) effort to steady the chase.
Deepak was the pick of PTCC bowlers returning with 5/18 in 8 overs which contained two maidens and was adjudged man of the match.
Sohail Akram (2/17) and Sadananda Okram (2/27) also fetched two wickets each to make the easy work of the New Lambulane team.
