Manipur team finishes 2nd

BSMC, of Taobungkhok, a unit of Th Birchandra Singh Football Academy went down 1-2 to Chandigarh in the final match of the Manchester United Premier Cup Football 2013 India Finals, played today at the Tata Steel Keenan stadium, Jamshedpur.
Representing Manipur at the prestigious competition, BSMC took the lead in the 19th minute through Buan-thanglun but could not sustain the momentum or preserve the advantage as the Chandi-garh youngsters levelled in the 25th minute before sealing victory 10 minutes later.
The Manipur team, however, had the consolation of bagging the best goalkeeper and best defender titles in M Romario and K Jim Singh respectively.
Manipuri native Samuel, who played for the Chandi-garh side, was adjudged the tournament's best striker.
Both the teams will now proceed to Goa for the india Finals to be held at SESA Football Academy.
Winners of the India Finals will represent the country in the international edition of the competition at Malaysia in June.
