NISA confirmed MSL champions

NISA, Thangmeiband rallied to hold SSU, Singjamei to a 1-1 draw that officially confirmed retention of the Manipur State League Football Tournament title.
Playing its last match in 6th edition of the 10-team competition at Khuman Lampak Main stadium today, the former champions conceded a goal in the first half but came out after a change with renewed vigour resulting in the equaliser scored by L Nabachandra in the 69th minute from an L Rabi cross.
Earlier, Md Riyaz Khan provided the SSU breakthrough in the 41st minute.
While the draw fetched NISA an unassailable 21 points SSU are in fourth place on 13 points.
MPSC, currently third behind AIM (13) in the competition on 12 points, will take on TRUGPU, Nambol tomorrow.
In the 3rd AMFA Senior Women's Football League tournament for BM Singh Trophy played today at the same venue, NYThC, Okram Chuthek trounced KRYPSA, Naoremthong 8-1 with S Tejibala netting a hat-trick.
While Tejibala found the mark in the 4th, 57th and 66th minutes, Y Kamala ruffled the rival net on two occasions (3rd, 13th) as goals from T Nungshitombi (29th), L Sanathoi (36th) and an own goal (Th Ranjita) added to the KRYPSA miseries.
O Roshni scored the consolation goal for the naoremthong side in the 27th minute.
