Yairipok bandh ends peacefully

Imphal, July 02 2014: The 24 hrs Yairipok bandh called by the JAC formed against the killing of Hidam Boby (37) affected the normal life of the area.

Demanding arrest and punishment of all the culprits involved in the murder of H Boby Singh, locals came out in large number and imposed road blockade in and around Yairipok Bazar.

However, no untoward incident was reported.

In Yairipok Bazar, most of the schools remained closed and public transport services were suspended.

Even as post mortem examination on the body was conducted at JNIMS morgue today, JAC said that they would continue to agitation until the culprits are arrested.

The JAC will stage a sit-in-protest on July 3 where they would discuss future course of agitation.
