Girl dies in mishap
A 17-year-old girl, who was returning home from Manipur Sangai Festival venue with her friend in an R-15 bike, died in a mishap at Khoyathong at around 8.55 tonight.
The girl has been identified as Kebam Luchingbi alias Anjali d/o Raju of Singjamei Kshetri Leikai.
The man who came with the girl has been identified as Anand (26) s/o (L) Nabakumar of Nambol Leimapokpam Makha Leikai.
PFI concerned
The Calicut meeting of Popular Front of India (PFI) National Secretariat has condemned the loss of innocent lives in attacks by NATO forces and ISIS groups.
The use of force is against the International Convention of Human Rights Basic Rules.
PFI welcomed the peaceful transition of democracy in Myanmar, but is sad over the denial of voting rights to the minority Rohingya Muslims, according to a statement issued by PRO PFI, Manipur State.
Youth Art challenge
The result of Sangai Youth Art Challenge 2015 will be declared tomorrow (Sunday) at 11 am at Manipur Tourism Pavilion, Sangai Festival main venue, Hapta Kangjeibung, Imphal.
The Sangai Youth Art Challenge 2015-a painting and photography competition, a pre-event to Manipur Sangai Festival 2015 was held on November 15 at Maniwood Children Park, Cheirao Ching.
Photo exhibition
A ten-day long photo exhibition on the theme "Saal Ek Shurwat Anek" has concluded today at Nambol Phoijing public theatre.
The exhibition was organised by the Directorate of Advertising and Visual Publicity, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India.
ALT to hold general assembly
The general assembly of Anal Lenruwl Tangpi (Anal Students' Union) will be held tomorrow at Kanankhu village community hall.
The union has, therefore, urged all its units' presidents, secretaries and well wishers to attend the meeting.
TSA, Sadar Hills
The Thadou Students' Association, Sadar Hills has condoled the death of two minors who were killed in a fire at Jangmol village, reports our correspondent.
The association has also expressed solidarity to the bereaved family members.
Journal released
As part of its monthly journal publication, the December issue of Women Against Crime was released today by W Tonel, senior civil judge, Imphal East at the ongoing Sangai Festival Manipur State Legal Services Authority stall in the presence of advocates and the organization chief advisor, Ngangom Tejkumar.
During the event, various forms of crime against women were discussed.
