Imphal, March 31 2019:
In remote areas especially near Indo Myanmar border, lack of medical facilities and staff often results in delay in patient care thereby endangering patient's life.
To address such healthcare challenges, Kamjong Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of 10 Sector Assam Rifles and IGAR(South) organised a Paramedic workshop at Nampisha village, Kamjong District to educate and train the local youth in Golden hour management and basic first aid.
The aim of this initiative is to train at least four to six boys and girls in basic first aid in every village who can immediately stabilise the patient until the doctors arrive.
Each Assam Rifles post will regularly conduct refresher workshops for selected persons under the guidance of Medical Officers in future as well.
The Workshop involved training on nuances of managing minor injuries, head injuries, spinal injuries, snake bites and dehydration to name a few.
A total of 130 villagers attended the workshop.
