Vegetable vendors operate during curfew break

Imphal, May 30 2021:
Vegetable kiosks in different parts of the state were allowed to open from 6 am to 10 am on Sunday as per an order issued by the state government that permitted sale and purchase of basic consumable items during the brief curfew break.
Police personnel took up measures to ensure that the vegetable traders maintain a distance of six feet apart among themselves.
Though buyers were allowed to come out, police detained many people, who came without any valid reason and collected fines.
Lamphel police also detained several youths, who were found having feast in Lamphel area.
According to a police statement, 296 individuals were detained and Rs 1,10,400 collected from them as fine for violating Covid relevant SOP, on Sunday.
