Army med officer assists

Imphal, January 30 2020:
A Medical Officer of the Indian Army with assistance from Red Cross Hospital, Silchar conducted a successful surgery on a small child suffering from congenital tongue tied medical condition on January 19 .
During a medical camp, organised by the Army in the remote locality of Tamenglong district, the Medical Officer examined a child patient named, Gainimlung Kamei (3 yrs 6 months) of Thingou village, who was suffering from medical condition known as congenital tongue tied, said PIB (DW) .
The Army facilitated the surgical procedure for free and the child was successfully operated in Red Cross Hospital, Silchar on January 19 .
The child is now well and on the way to full recovery and has started enunciating words clearly.
The Army stands by its commitment to assist and uplift those in need and despair.
