TKS demands AR officer's termination

The Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong (TKS) on Saturday held a lightning protest at Gandhi Chowk in Ukhrul demanding termination of Assam Rifles officer involved in the physical assault incident in Senapati recently.
On the night of October 24, Major Marathi led AR troop had physically assaulted and hurled abuses on the ANSAM president Kumo Sha at Senapati bazaar.
In a show of discontentment against the incident, the TKS imposed lightning strike for 30 minutes and staged protest at Gandhi Chowk in Ukhrul, while stopping all vehicular movement temporarily in the town on Saturday.
Hundreds of students holding placards took a protest march from the TKS office to Gandhi Chowk.
Some of the placards read: "Assam Rifles Abuser; �why torture ANSAM president, �respect Nagas rights.", "We denounce violence and long for peace and harmony", etc.
