Open schools: COTA
Council of Teachers' Association (COTA) has urged the Government to open the educational institutes at the earliest.
The association condoled the death of Sapam Robinhood and shared the grief of the bereaved family members.
In a statement, the association also urged the Government to end the present crisis by implementing a new ILP Bill in the State at the earliest.
Football ground constructed
21 Assam Rifles of 28 Sector AR under the aegis of Hqs IGAR (South) constructed a football ground at Kannan village in Chandel district.
This ground was handed over to Kannan village chief Pouthang yesterday.
Tankers assn
Pledging support to the present pro-ILPS movement, All Manipur Petroleum Transporters Association has threatened not to transport fuel if the Government fails to resolve the issue at the earliest.
Condoling Sapam Robinhood's death, the association also shared the grief of the bereaved family members.
URF cadre held
Troops of 45 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector AR under the aegis of Hqs IGAR (South) launched an operation at Pangei and apprehended one URF cadre on July 19 .
He has been identified as PT Jordan alias Regan Singh (19) s/o (L) Gulapi of Meitram Makha Leikai.
The apprehendee has been handed over to Heingang police station, said a press release issued by PRO Hqs IGAR (S) .
AR provides aid
22 Assam Rifles of 28 Sector AR under the aegis of Hqs IGAR (South) provided assistance to Mission Blind School , Heikakpokpi in Chandel district yesterday.
Commander, 28 Sector AR interacted with the students and the staff of the school and distributed footwear to the students on behalf of IGAR (South), said an AR press release.
National class
Two members of All India Students' Federation, Manipur Council (AISF, MSC) have left for Hyderabad to participate in the AISF National class today, a statement informed.
AISF, National Council will hold the National class for a period of ten days.
Body fished out
A man was found dead and floating in Imphal river on the eastern side of Sanjenthong this afternoon.
Labourers who are engaged in the bridge construction work first saw the body before it was fished out by a police team.
Later the body was deposited at JNIMS morgue.
The man was found wearing a black T-shirt and black pant.
He had the word 'Bina' tattooed on his left arm.
Curfew relaxation
The District Magistrates of Imphal East and Imphal West have issued orders relaxing curfew in the two districts from 5 am till 7 pm tomorrow (July 22) .
Restrictions under CrPC 144 will however continue.
