ZEPADA awards farmers

Lamka, July 29 2011:
Three years after commencing its mission to improve farming in an attempt to improve the livelihood of the rural community, the Zomi Economic and Planning and Development Agency today for the first time awarded farmers.
Among the farmers who were awarded today included Lalcha of D Khawzim who had successfully shown 3200 kg of organic ginger and was expected to produce 32,200 kg Three others from Khawzim and one from Lungthul are also awarded with memento and cash incentives.
Besides turmeric and ginger, coffee was another commodity ZEPADA has been stressing as a practical cash crop amongst the farmers.
