Source: The Sangai Express
Imphal, March 26 2020:
As a result of lockdown, all shops and market places in Yaingangpokpi of Lamlai A/C remained shut, depriving local residents of essential commodities.
Apart from a few small shops, Lamlai Bazar wore a deserted look with the unavailability of rice and other essential commodities including vegetables.
The price of rice has also gone up from Rs 1,400/- before the curfew was imposed, to Rs 1,800/- per 50kg, leaving people to question their fate.
The locals have also not received free rice allotted by State Govt under NSFA due to scarcity of labourers, the report said.
