Imphal, September 15, 2009:
Troops of 29 Assam Rifles deployed at Tengnoupal check post recovered 25 kgs of Rhino bones, 39 deer antlers, 5.5 kgs of Rhino skin, 10 Bear glands, 482 kgs of Pangolin shells and 14,120 Acetified tablets, besides apprehending two persons possessing the banned items on September 14, said a PRO IGAR (S) release.
Identifying the arrested duo as Darshel lamkang (21) s/o Kangpol of Pallel Khunou and RR Romen Chothe (19) s/o PR Moton Chothe of Leirongtabi, Chandel, the PRO said both persons along with the seized items have been handed over to Forest Office, Pallel yesterday itself.
