AMMDC seeks Government's attention

The heavy shower from July 1 which flooded many parts of the State has affected and caused heavy damages to many .
A press release issued by general secretary of All Manipur Muslim Development Committee HQs stated that the water level of almost all the rivers flowing through the State has increased which created panic and threat to many people .
The people of Lilong AC took many preventive measures to avoid the flood.
However, the river near Lilong Haoreibi Nangou Loukol overflowed flooding its nearby areas and houses which led the people to seek refuge at nearby relief camps .
Some are taking refuge by building temporary shed, it stated .
The breakage of Ningthibi Dam under Lilong AC has caused flood in four villages of the AC and the recent incessant rain has worsened the situation .
Despite the hardship faced by the people, the State Government remaining ignorant and turning a blind eye on the situation is unfortunate, it stated and sought immediate attention of the Government into the matter and to provide necessary relief measures to the flood victims .
It further urged the department concerned to conduct medical camps to prevent any epidemic outbreak and to distribute medicines for the victims .
It is also unfortunate that no representative from IFCD and Executive Engineers, Assistant Engineers of PWD have visited the site and inspected the situation of the area, it added .
The Committee further urged the necessity of prompt action regarding the matter at Ningthibi Dam and Haoreibi Awang Leikai Loknung.
