Nagaland-Manipur villagers to build road

In an exemplary and welcoming move among the Naga villages bordering the states of Manipur and Nagaland, four villages from across the border resolved to connect each other with roads and bridges.
Working out a developmental scope through inter-state village roads among the border villages of Manipur and Nagaland, four villages have mutually decided to repair and build inter village roads for developing transport and communication system.
According to sources, four villages including Chizami village from Nagaland and Laii Sharafii, New Laii and Laii Villages under Paomata Sub-division from Manipur in a joint meeting held on May 29,and agreed upon to build roads to create better relations and understanding among the border Naga villages.
In a positive gesture, the Chizami village also volunteered solely to construct a bridge at Zaire River which connects the two States through the villages of Chizami and Laii.
It also stated that, the matter has been discussed and decided with representation of their respective elected members of Mao assembly constituency (Manipur) and Chizami assembly constituency (Naghaland) .
