Senapati, January 27 2017:
On the occasion of the 68th Republic Day celebrations, the Senapati Brigade, under the aegis of the Red Shield Division, hoisted the National flag at Brigade headquarters, Senapati.
The National flag was unfurled by 92-year-old Tailu Naga, village head man of Taphou Naga village on a tall iron pole of 59 feet.
The newly hoisted National flag is being dedicated by the Indian Army to the people of Senapati district and will remain as a symbol of national integration, love, peace, peaceful co-existence and everlasting cordial relations between the security forces and the peace loving people of Senapati district.
The function included singing of National Anthem jointly by Army personnel and locals, a dance programme performed by a cultural troupe of Taphou Naga village, distribution of sweets to school children followed by refreshment.
GBs, village elders, youths of neighbouring villages, officials of the District Administration, personnel of ITBP and CRPF attended the celebration, a PIB Defence statement informed.
