Imphal, January 16 2013:
The Foreign investment Board, with the Chief Secretary as its Chairman, has approved procurement of foreign funding for preservation of catchment areas.
While the Board in its meeting held yesterday approved State's Forest Department as the nodal agency to procure the fund for implementation of various schemes under the Integrated Forestry and Livelihood Project, it decided to entrust the State Planning Board for finalising from which sources/countries the foreign funding is to be pursued.
A concept paper on the said project was reportedly tabled by the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests AK Rana at the Board's meet.
It is also said that a consultant would be roped in to prepare a detailed report on the project.
