Imphal, April 13 2018:
Based on specific information regarding the presence of a suspected underground hideout in the general area of Tolthangvill, Jwalamukhi Battalion launched a joint operation in Kangpokpi district along with police representatives of Saikul police station and recovered one AK-56 Rifle along with one magazine and 13 live rounds and one 5.56 mm A-1 Assault Rifle along with one magazine and seven live rounds on April 10 from a jungle in the village, claimed a press release issued by PIB Defence Wing.
The recovered arms and ammunition have been handed over to Saikul police station Saikul on the same day, it added.
