Regarding discovery of two new plant species recently published on some newspapers, Dr RK Kishor has clarified that the investigations were solely supported by SERC, DST and was not related with his present position as SRA, CSIR.
Talking to The Sangai Express, Dr RK Kishor said that discoveries of two orchid species Ione kipgenii and Dendrobium temenglongense were team efforts of the Scientists and staff of the Centre for Orchid Gene Conservation of Eastern Himlayan Region, which is being sponsored by DST, Government of India.
Saying that he worked as Scientist D at the Centre till December 2012, Dr RK Kishor said that being the lead as well as the corresponding author for the two publications, he gave the media briefing to inform it to the general public.
