Tamenglong, August 09 2015 :
Tamenglong Village Chiefs' Association has appealed to the State Government to look into the woeful plight of the people who have been affected by floods and landslides in the district.
Standing crops amounting to Rs 15-20 crore have been destroyed in Tousem, Tamei, Tamenglong, Nungba and Khoupum sub-divisions.
Overflowing water from Khoupum Dam canal has further aggravated the situation, said a statement issued by the association.
The association urged the State Government to initiate immediate measures to mitigate the suffering of the people of the district particularly Khoupum sub-division.
