Man hacked at Nungei, Lilong

Following a land dispute, two youngsters today hacked and injured a man at Nungei under Lilong police station in Thoubal district.
Md Anjob Ali (55) of Thoubal Khekman Amakcham but staying at Moijing Khong Manung was waiting for bus to Imphal at Nungei bus waiting shed at about 11 am when two youngsters hacked him.
Anjob sustained injuries on the head and right cheek.
He is currently undergoing treatment at JNIMS.
Md Mustakin (20) s/o Anjob Ali who was attending to his father at JNIMS said that the assailants were MV Shaheed (25) s/o Isub Ali and his younger brother Md Farish Khan (18) .
The assailants and the victim are distant relatives as Isub Ali and Anjob Ali are cousins.
There was a scuffle between the two families on May 19 last year due to land dispute.
Again on June 26, Isub Ali's three sons burnt down three houses of Anjob Ali and his family, said Mustakin.
Since then, Anjob and his family have been staying at Moijing Khong Manung, the son added.
