Source: The Sangai Express
Imphal, August 17 2019:
A landslide which occurred near Barak bridge along Imphal-Jiribam NH 37, at around 10 pm yesterday, swept away two goods laden trucks, down a 100 metre deep gorge.
Fortunately, drivers of both the trucks had went away for their dinner after parking the vehicles and as such, they were unharmed.
On the other hand, the risky condition of the highway caused by the landslide has stranded many vehicles on the road.
Officials and authorities concerned have however, started work on repairing the damages and to make the road motorable as soon as possible.
