Man held with pangolin shells

Imphal, November 13 2014:
Troops of 24 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector AR under the aegis of Hqs IGAR (South) apprehended a man along with banned wildlife products at Khudengthabi check post yesterday.
He was heading towards Imphal in a Maruti van bearing registration No MN-01-W 7740.The apprehendee has been identified as Thangkhulelall Baite (20) s/o Jangkholun Moreh Ward No-1.10.7 kg of pangolin shells worth around Rs 7 lakhs, one mobile phone and a driving license were recovered from his possession.
The apprehendee along with the recovered items has been handed over to the Forest Department, Imphal, said a press release issued by PRO Hqs IGAR (S) .
