Aonglenden A/C by-poll

Stray incidents have marked the by-poll to the Aonglenden A/C in Mokokchung district of Nagaland today.
Former Governor of Goa and Maharashtra SC Jamir is seeking to get re-elected from this Constituency which he once reigned it for several terms.
SC Jamir of Congress and Toshipokba Longkumer, a two time contestant of the ruling Naga People's Front (NPF) are contesting the by-election in a straight fight.
The NPF has accused the Congress workers of detonating three explosives at polling number 5 and 6 this morning at around 9.The NPF also alleged that the Congress workers fired upon the two polling stations to disrupt the polling process.
Several NPF workers got injured in the incidents, said Abu Metha, press secretary to chief minister Neiphiu Rio.
On the other hand, the Congress party accused the NPF of using militants in the polling today.
