The Manipur Home Guard Employees' Welfare Association has warned of resorting to severe form of agitation in case the State Government fails to meet their demands before the Home Guard Raising Day on December 6 .
Speaking to media persons, the association president Y Mangi said that it had urged the State Government to implement the Supreme Court's order on duty allowance.
As per the Supreme Court's order, the association has also submitted a memorandum regarding the matter to the Principal Secretary (Home) of Manipur and DGP, he said.
On the Home Guard Raising Day 2015 which falls on December 6, the State Government should make assurance to fulfil the demand of 2196 Home Guard personnel of Manipur.
The matter will be apprised to the Home Ministry of India if the State Government does not meet the demand at the earliest, Mangi added.
When requested to provide PDS items at subsidized rate, the Minister and Director concerned sanctioned just 20 quintals of rice for around 2196 Home Guards.
