Imphal, May 31 2013 : Rejecting outright the claim of the KNF that none of its cadres are present in Bongbal Kholen village, the Kuki National Front (Nehlun) categorically asked with whom cadres of the KNF (N) exchanged fires if none of the KNF cadres were present at the village.

A statement issued by the Information and publicity secretary of KNF (N), Gogou Vaiphei urged the Home Dept to book the culprits along with the KNF president for violation of the SoO ground rules and the Govt should maintain strict vigil on the free movement of KNF cadres.

The KNF (N) alleged that the local representative had transported more cadres of the KNF at Bongbal Khullen on May 29 night.

The next day, the cadres threatened the families of some of their suspects and as a result many fled their homes and took shelter in Imphal.

Maintaining that the outfit is just clarifying the matter but not with the intention to mobilise others help or support, the statement pledged to fight any outcome till the end if the KNF cadres refused to leave the area soon.

Though the outfit wants peace, they are ready to take necessary steps if the needs arise and the situation warrants.

The KNF (N) statement further pointed out that the KNF president had coerced the four-time MLA of Kangpokpi and prevented him even from filing his nomination in the last Assembly election.

It then asked if winning an MLA seat has been the motive of the KNF in lieu of Kukiland.

It demanded the KNF president to tender apology to the Kuki nation for killing his comrades�like Khaikhothang Kipgen, Khailet Haokip, Robert Kipgen, Seikam Kipgen, Jampu Haokip, Thanggin Kipgen along with his wife� who were much more capable than him just to defend the president post of the outfit.

The KNF (N) further clarified that Henkholen alias James is not the leader of the outfit but only a faithful commander of the cadres.

He has no political role or power within the organisation, it said while adding that the organisation is set up by well-wishers, thinkers and experts to achieve the goal.
