Imphal, August 22 2016:
Accusing the State Government of overlooking
the plight and demands of the people of Jiribam,
Jiribam District Demand Committee (JDDC)
today said it will resume its protest if the Gov-
ernment fail to upgrade Jiribam sub-division to
a full-fledged revenue district by August end.
JDDC in a statement issued by its con-
venor W Dinesh Meitei, expressed
disappointment with the way the State Gov-
ernment has handled the issue.
Alleging State
Government of making false promises to the
people, the JDDC convenor said the com-
mittee, with the support of Jiribam locals,
will resume their protest demanding
upgradation of the sub-division into a full
fledged district from September 1, if the State
Government continue to disregard the issue.
JDDC has appealed the masses to support
JDDC and its demand.
