Imphal, April 13 2013 :
The proscribed RPF has conveyed gratitude to all the people, members of clubs, organisations, Bar association, students and teachers of schools and colleges and employees of Government and private institutions who came out in large numbers and paid tributes to 'martyrs' on the Martyrs Day at different memorial sites located in different parts of Manipur.
RPF would also like thank journalist fraternity, transport organisations, doctors, nurses and traffic police for their immense contributions towards successful observation of Martyrs' Day, conveyed a press release issued by the outfit's Publicity Secretary Roben Khuman.
But it regrettable that a number of students in school uniforms were not allowed to pay tributes to the martyrs at the memorial tomb.
Claiming that offering tributes to martyrs at their memorial sites is within the law, the outfit appealed to Manipur Police not to pose any hurdle to people coming to the memorial complex.
The supreme sacrifices made by the pioneering revolutionaries have paved the path of survival for future generations.
"One inherent message of their sacrifice is, we must live without any fear for death", the outfit asserted.
"We must respect the sacrifices made by the pioneers and we too must sacrifice like them for the national cause", it exhorted.
