KCA, KSO, Chandel laud
Kuki Chiefs' Association (KCA), Machi Block and Kuki Students' Organisation (KSO), Machi Block have extended gratitude to the DC, Chandel and SDO, Machi for providing relief materials to the villagers who have been affected by the recent flood and landslides.
KCA and KSO, Machi Block also appealed to the State Government to take up necessary steps to clear the landslide affected Tengnoupal-Sangshak road.
Relief materials distributed
Congress Mahila Mandal, Kokilbon Leikai, Moirang has distributed relief items provided by the State Government and Mairembam Prithviraj Singh, Parliamentary Secretary, YAS & Tourism for the flood affected people of Kokilbon Leikai.
Thoiya Congress Mahila Committee has also extended gratitude to Mairembam Prithviraj Singh for supplying relief items to the people of Thoiya Leikai, Moirang.
UNLF cadre held
22 Assam Rifles arrested a UNLF cadre from Sekmaijin yesterday.
He has been identified as self styled private Sanasam Inbungochouba alias Boy s/o Nupur of Koidam Mamang Leikai.
AR conducts meeting
2 Assam Rifles under the aegis of 9 Sector Assam Rifles of Hqs IGAR (S) conducted a meeting with villagers at Yairipok market with an aim to prevent happening of unwanted incidents on August 7 .
The meeting was chaired by 2 AR Commandant in the presence of Council members and Pradhans.
Houses damaged
At least five houses have been damaged due to landslide at Noney, Tamenglong district at around 7.30 pm yesterday.
At first, a road side drain was filled up by earth following landslide from the nearby hill slope.
The next moment, the houses were flooded by water overflowing from the drain, informed a source.
